H21 Steel Introduction:
Tungsten-based hot work tool steels encompass a range of types, specifically designated as H21 through H26. These steels exhibit characteristics that are comparable to those of high-speed tool steels. The primary alloying constituents in tungsten hot work tool steels include tungsten, chromium, carbon, and vanadium. Notably, these steels demonstrate resistance to distortion during air-hardening processes and possess a higher hardening temperature compared to chromium-based hot work tool steels. To minimize the risk of breakage, it is advisable to preheat tungsten hot work tool steels to their operating temperature prior to use. Furthermore, reducing the carbon content within these steels can enhance their thermal shock resistance and toughness.
Applications of H21 Steel:
H21 hot work tool steel is ideal for a variety of applications, particularly in the manufacturing of hot forging and blanking dies and punches used for producing nuts, bolts, and other similar small components. Additionally, it is highly suitable for die casting copper-based alloys, serving as dies, cores, inserts, and pins. Other notable uses include forming dies, shear blades, hot extrusion dies, mandrels, punches, die holders, ejector disks, and extrusion liners. This steel’s properties make it an excellent choice for these demanding applications.
Properties:
High temperature resistance, wear resistance, excellent machining performance, strong stability in heat treatment, temperature up to 650℃ still works well.
