Production Process of ASTM A653 Hot Dip Galvanized Steel Sheet 1
1. Surface cleaning: First of all, the ASTM A653 raw steel plate needs to be cleaned on the surface to remove impurities such as oil, rust, and oxide. This is usually achieved by pickling or mechanical methods to ensure that the surface of the steel plate is clean and stain-free.
2. Washing and neutralization: Workers need to wash the steel plate with a large amount of water to remove the residual acid. Later, they may also need to neutralize to adjust the pH of the surface of the steel plate. This prevents corrosion in subsequent processing.
3. Drying: The factory should thoroughly dry the cleaned and neutralized steel plate to prevent water from entering the galvanizing tank and affecting the quality of galvanizing.
4. Solution preparation: Zinc granules, plating auxiliaries (such as ammonium chloride, potassium chloride, etc.) and water constitute the galvanizing solution. Precisely control the proportion of each component according to the standard to ensure the uniformity and quality of the galvanized layer.
5. Temperature control: Galvanized solution should be heated to the appropriate temperature (usually 440°C to 460°C). This ensures that the zinc solution has good fluidity and permeability and is easy to react adequately with the surface of the steel plate.

6. Zinc dipping: Workers will slowly immerse the pre-treated steel plate in a heated galvanized solution for a certain period of time. In this way, the surface of the steel plate will be evenly coated with zinc. In this process, zinc reacts with the iron on the surface of the steel plate to form an iron-zinc alloy layer. This increases the adhesion of the coating.
7. Air knife scraping: When the steel plate is raised from the galvanized tank, the air knife is used to blow out the excess zinc liquid. Workers will control the thickness of the coating to the standard range, while ensuring that the coating surface is smooth and uniform.
8. Cooling: The galvanized steel plate needs to be cooled quickly to prevent excessive hardening of the zinc layer or thermal stress cracks. Cooling methods may include water quenching or air cooling.
9. Post-treatment: According to needs, workers can passivate galvanized steel (such as chromate treatment). This improves corrosion resistance and appearance quality. In addition, it can be oiled to prevent corrosion during transportation and storage.
Application
1. Construction field
In the construction field, ASTM A653 hot-dip galvanized steel sheets can manufacture structural components such as beams, columns, and roofing. Its excellent anti-corrosion properties can effectively extend the service life of buildings, while providing sufficient strength and stability.
In architectural decoration, galvanized steel is also often used as exterior wall panels, roof panels, partition walls, etc. This steel plate is not only beautiful, but also easy to install and maintain.
2. Automobile Manufacturing Industry:
In the automobile manufacturing industry, this steel plate is one of the indispensable materials. It can make car bodies, doors, chassis and other parts. Thus providing sufficient strength and corrosion resistance.
With the intensification of the trend of automobile lightweight, galvanized steel plate has become one of the important lightweight materials in automobile manufacturing because of its good strength and weight ratio.
3. Home Appliance industry:
The home appliance industry is also one of its important application areas. It can manufacture the shell and internal structural parts of household appliances such as refrigerators, washing machines and air conditioners to improve the corrosion resistance and service life of products.
4. Metal products and machinery manufacturing:
In the field of metal products and machinery manufacturing, it can manufacture various metal components, parts and tools. Its good workability and corrosion resistance make it one of the ideal materials in these fields.
