Production Process of Cold Drawn Round Bar
The process of cold drawn round steel mainly includes the following steps:
Raw material preparation: We will choose high-quality steel as raw materials, and carry out cutting, cleaning and other pre-treatment processes to ensure that the surface quality of raw materials and internal organization meet the production requirements.
Cold drawing deformation: The workers will send the pre-treated raw materials to the cold-drawing machine for cold-drawing deformation. During the cold drawing process, the steel will undergo plastic deformation under the action of tension and friction. Its cross-section gradually decreases and its length increases, eventually reaching the desired size and shape. This process is usually done at room temperature and does not require heating.
Straightening and subsequent treatment: Bending or twisting may occur after cold drawing of round steel. So the straightening device needs to straighten the steel. At the same time, it may also require pickling, phosphating or lime treatment to improve the surface quality of the steel.
Packing, weighing and marking: Package, weigh and label for subsequent storage and transportation.

Ø3.0mm. – Ø 8.0 mm. Round Bars are manufactured by cold drawing from the coil to the bar.
Ø8.0mm. – Ø 19.0 mm. They are manufactured either by cold drawing from the coil to the bar or cold drawing from the hot rolled round bar product to the bar, in accordance with the customer preference.
Ø19.0mm. – Ø 80.0 mm. Cold Drawn Round Bars are manufactured by cold drawing from hot drawing round product.
