Excellent mechanical properties: The mechanical properties of nodular cast iron are significantly better than gray iron, and similar to steel. It has high strength, toughness, wear resistance and ductility, and can withstand large loads and complex and changeable stresses.
Good casting performance: The casting process performance is good. Various heat treatment methods can change its properties. In addition, the interior of this material is a spherical graphite structure. Therefore, this can eliminate the cracking phenomenon caused by the graphite sheet. Corrosion and heat resistance: This cast iron is the same as cast iron in terms of corrosion resistance, but it also has good heat resistance and can maintain stable performance in high temperature environments.
Applications of Nodular Cast Iron
Power machinery: such as crankshaft, camshaft, connecting shaft, connecting rod, gear, clutch plate and other parts. These components require high strength, wear resistance and stability.
Municipal engineering: such as manhole cover, pipeline, ditch cover plate, etc. They need to withstand the weight of vehicles and pedestrians. At the same time, corrosion resistance and wear resistance are required.
Marine and fire protection: In these applications, nodular cast iron makes valves, pump bodies and other critical components. Customers generally require materials with good impact resistance and wear resistance.
Production Operation Method
1. Design and mold making: According to the needs of ductile iron parts, parts design and mold making.
2. Material preparation: Mix cast iron and nodulator in proportion, and stir evenly.
3. Sand mold preparation: mix the sand material and binder according to a certain proportion, add water to mix evenly, and then fill into the mold.
4. Casting melting: After the hot metal is heated to the melting point, the worker will pour it into the sand mold to fill all the cavities.
5. Cooling and tempering: After the casting is completed, the ductile iron is cooled to room temperature and then tempered.
6. Inspection and processing: The inspection of ductile iron parts, and the necessary processing and surface treatment.
7. Packaging and shipping: the nodular cast iron parts are packaged and shipped according to the customer’s order requirements.
