The Main Characteristics of Stainless Steel Wire
Corrosion resistance: One of the main characteristics of stainless steel wire is its excellent corrosion resistance. It can maintain the stability of material properties under a variety of harsh environments (such as moisture, acid and alkali, etc.).
High strength: After proper heat treatment or cold processing, it can obtain high strength to meet various bearing requirements.
Good workability: This wire is easy to bend, cut, welding and other processing. So it is easy to make parts or products of various shapes and sizes.
Aesthetics: It has a high surface finish and a silver-white metallic luster. So it is suitable for decoration and aesthetic requirements of higher occasions.
Classification of Stainless Steel Wire
1. Classification by material composition
Austenitic wire: such as 304 (the most common), 316, etc. They have good corrosion resistance, weldability and toughness. So they are widely used in food, medical, chemical and other fields.
Ferritic wire: such as 430, has a high thermal conductivity and permeability, but its corrosion resistance is relatively weak, often used in decoration, kitchenware and so on.
Martensitic wire: such as 410, 420, etc., with high hardness and strength. But poor corrosion resistance, often used in tools, bearings and so on.
Duplex wire: combines the advantages of austenitic and ferritic stainless steels, such as 2205. It has excellent corrosion resistance, high strength and good weldability.
2. Sort by shape
Round line: The most common shape, ranging in diameter from very fine to thick, suitable for a variety of processing needs.
Flat wire: A wire with a rectangular cross section, often used in the manufacture of parts of a specific shape.
Shaped line: such as square, hexagonal, trapezoid and other irregular shape of the wire, according to specific needs.
Application Field
Stainless steel wire is widely used in many fields, including but not limited to:
Construction field: can make connections in building structures, decorative lines, railings and so on.
Machinery manufacturing: used as raw materials for mechanical parts, transmission parts, fasteners, etc.
Chemical industry: Because of its excellent corrosion resistance, it is widely used in chemical equipment and pipeline systems.
Food processing: Wires that meet food grade standards can be used to make food processing equipment, tableware, etc.
Medical equipment: can manufacture surgical instruments, medical equipment components, etc., to ensure the health and safety of products.
