Seamless tube is a long steel bar with a hollow section and no joints around it. Due to its seamless cross-section, it performs well under pressure and is often used to transport fluids. Compared with welded steel pipes, this steel pipe can withstand higher pressure due to the difference in its manufacturing process. In industrial production, it can be used as a pipe or structural part for transporting fluids.
Production and Operation
Raw material preparation: Select suitable metal raw materials according to production needs, such as carbon steel, alloy steel, etc., and ensure that the quality and size of raw materials meet the standards.
Heating and perforation: the raw material is fed into the heating furnace and heated to a certain temperature, so that it becomes soft and easy to deform. Then a perforator is used to perforate the heated raw material to form a preliminary tube blank.
Rolling and extension: Through a multi-pass rolling process, the tube blank is gradually rolled to the required outside diameter and wall thickness. Each pass of rolling will make the section of the tube billet smoother and more regular.
Cooling and straightening: After the rolling is completed, the steel pipe needs to undergo a cooling process to ensure its structure and performance stability. Subsequently, the pipe is straightened by a straightening machine to achieve the specified straightness and shape.
Inspection and packaging: Finally, the pipe quality inspection, including size, appearance, chemical composition and mechanical properties and other aspects of the test. Qualified tubes will be packed and shipped to the customer.
Advantages of Seamless Tube
Light weight: The weight of seamless tube is relatively light, only one-fifth of square steel. This makes it more convenient during transportation and installation, while reducing costs.
Strong corrosion resistance: It has good corrosion resistance and can resist the corrosion of acid, alkali, salt and atmospheric environment. This enables it to maintain stable performance in a variety of harsh environments and extends its service life.
Excellent mechanical properties: its tensile strength is more than 8 to 10 times that of ordinary steel. Its elastic modulus is better than that of steel, and it has excellent creep resistance, corrosion resistance and shock resistance. This makes seamless tubes excellent in applications that withstand high pressure, high strength and complex mechanical structures.
Easy processing: This steel pipe has good machinability. Therefore, workers can cut, bend, weld and other processing through various processes to meet different needs.
High elasticity and no memory: It has high elasticity, is not easy to deform when used repeatedly in mechanical equipment, and has no memory. This ensures its stability and reliability during long-term use.
