ASTM A106 Grade B Pipe Dimensions Schedule
ASTM A106 Grade B (ASME SA106 is the standard specification for seamless carbon steel pipe that is employed in high temperature applications. It comprises three grades: A, B and C, with grade A106 B being the most frequently employed. This material is utilized not only for pipeline systems involved in transporting oil and gas, water and mineral slurry, but also for boilers, constructions and structural purposes. Its chemical composition and mechanical properties correspond to those of ASTM A53 Grade B and API 5L B; its yield strength has a minimum value of 240 MPa, while its tensile strength tops at 415 MPa.
Supply Range of IBC Metal Group
It covers pipe sizes in NPS (National Standard Straight) ranging from 1/8 inch to 48 inch (10.3mm DN6 – 1219mm DN1200), while conforming to ASME B 36.10M for nominal wall thickness. This standard specification can also be used for other sizes outside of ASME B 36.10M.

ASTM A106, also dubbed ASME SA106, refers to seamless pipes used mainly for transporting gas and liquids from one place to another. These pipes are especially suitable for high-temperature services and are able to withstand considerable pressure. Manufactured according to the ANSI B36.10 / ASME B36.10 dimension standard, ASTM A106 Grade B is the most popular pipe in the market due to its affordability and availability worldwide.
The pipes have a minimum Yield strength of 240 and 275 MPa respectively for grades B and C, with a minimum tensile strength of 415 and 485 MPa respectively. The pipes also demonstrate a minimum elongation of 16.5%/30%. These pipes are made either by cold drawn finish process or Hot finished process. In order to complete the cold draw finish process, Normalizing at 900 deg. C is then required. These pipes are applicable in various industries such as oil and gas refineries, petrochemical plants, boiler, chemical plants, and Shipbuilding.
