This material is DIN 17350 standard grade. Digital Grade material number 1.2436. Metal Steel Grade W-Nr X210CrW12. This is a die steel used for extrusion molds, hot cast molds, aluminium production, aluminium cutting molds. X210CrW12 is equivalent to W-Nr and DIN. It is 100% ultrasonic tested. Small size steel products are made by hot rolling, large size steel products are made by forging. 1.2436 is equivalent to W-Nr and DIN.
An air hardening alloy tool steel with excellent wear and abrasion resistance, AISI D6 steel is a high carbon, 12% chromium alloy cold work tool steel with tungsten. Due to its high carbon, high chromium content, D6 tool steel is able to harden more effectively than D3 steel, has greater dimensional stability, and is highly resistant to tempering as well.

Applications
Steel D6 is particularly useful for applications such as blanking tools, stamping tools, embossing tools, scraping tools, trimming tools, woodworking tools, drawing tools, press tools, stone moulds, sintered tools, machine knives, hammer cores, ring rollers, thread rolling dies and plastic moulds. It can be used to cut hard sheet material such as ceramic brick and tile wear material up to a thickness of 2mm along with more conventional paper and plastic blades. Additionally it can be employed for cutting die punching pressing silicon steel sheet and more.
